Site menu

Before you start

The site menu is a list of items. Each item has a title and a link, and it can sit under another item and become a submenu. This list is on the shop menu page; on sites that are not shops, the same page is called the site menu.

Seeing and editing the menu needs the "Menu management" («مدیریت منو») permission. If you do not have it, you see the message "You do not have access to the menu" («دسترسی به منو ندارید»); ask the site manager to give it to you.

Make a new item

1. Open the menu page and click "Add a menu item" («افزودن آیتمِ منو»). If the menu is still empty, you see the message "No item has been added to the menu yet" («هنوز آیتمی به منو اضافه نشده است») and the same button.

2. In "Title" («عنوان») write the name of the item.

3. Click "Link to" («پیوند به»). In the box that opens, type the name of a page, category, product or post. The results are shown in these groups: "Pages you built" («صفحه‌های ساخته‌شده»), "Shop sections" («بخش‌های فروشگاه»), "Categories" («دسته‌بندی‌ها»), "Products" («کالاها») and "Blog posts" («نوشته‌های وبلاگ»). Next to each result you also see its address. Choose one.

• "Shop sections" has these: "Home page" («صفحه‌ی اصلی»), "All products" («همه‌ی کالاها»), "Blog" («وبلاگ») and "Contact us" («تماس با ما»).

• If your package has no products and categories, you do not see "All products", "Categories" and "Products".

• If "Title" is empty, choosing a link fills it with the name of that link. A title you wrote yourself is not changed.

4. If what you want is not in the list, click "Custom address…" («نشانی دلخواه…»). The "Address" («نشانی») field opens; write the address in it, like /about or https://…. The message "Nothing was found with this name. You can write the address by hand." («چیزی با این نام پیدا نشد. می‌توانید نشانی را دستی بنویسید.») says the same.

5. If you want the link to open in a new tab, turn on "Open in a new tab" («در تب تازه باز شود»).

6. The "Active" («فعال») option is on from the start for a new item. If you do not want the item to be active, turn it off.

7. Click "Save" («ذخیره»). You see the message "Menu item saved" («آیتم منو ذخیره شد») and you go back to the list. To go back without saving, click "Cancel" («انصراف»).

If saving did not work, you see the message "Some fields need correcting." («برخی فیلدها نیاز به اصلاح دارند.») and the explanation of each problem is written under its own field.

Make a submenu

1. Open the item that should become a submenu: click its title or "Edit" («ویرایش»). You can also make a new item with "Add a menu item".

2. In "Parent" («والد») choose the item above it. Under it is written: "If you choose an item here, this item becomes a submenu of that item." («اگر آیتمی را اینجا انتخاب کنید، این آیتم زیرمنوی همان آیتم می‌شود.»)

3. Click "Save". In the list, the item is shown under its parent, a little indented.

4. To make the item a first-level item again, choose "No parent (first level)" («بدون والد (سطح اول)») in "Parent" and save.

Change the order

• Each row has two arrow buttons that move the item one place up or down. After a move, you see the message "Order saved" («ترتیب ذخیره شد»).

• You can drag a row and drop it on another row.

• Moving works only between items of the same level. To move an item under another item, change its "Parent".

• If you sorted the rows by a column or a filter is on, the arrow buttons are not there and you see the message "Moving items is possible only in tree order and without a filter." («جابه‌جایی آیتم‌ها فقط در ترتیب درختی و بدون فیلتر ممکن است.»). "Back to tree order" («بازگشت به ترتیب درختی») removes the sorting and "Clear filters" («پاک کردن فیلترها») removes the filters.

To find an item, use "Search" («جست‌وجو») and the "Status" («وضعیت») filter; "Status" has three choices: "All" («همه»), "Active" and "Inactive" («غیرفعال»). The columns "Title", "Address" («نشانی») and "Status" can also be sorted by clicking their heads.

Edit, turn off and delete

1. To edit, click the title of the item or "Edit", make your changes and click "Save".

2. To turn an item off, turn "Active" off and save. The status of the item in the list becomes "Inactive".

3. To delete, click "Delete" («حذف») in the list. A window with the title "Delete" and the name of the item opens and says: "The sub-items of this item are deleted too. This cannot be undone." («زیرشاخه‌های این آیتم هم حذف می‌شوند. این عملیات قابل بازگشت نیست.») If you are sure, confirm. You see the message "Menu item deleted" («آیتم منو حذف شد»).

If something did not work

• If you see the message "You do not have access to the menu", ask the site manager to give you the "Menu management" permission.

• If you see the message "Loading the menu failed" («دریافت منو ناموفق بود»), open the page again. On the item page there is also a "Try again" («تلاش دوباره») button.

• If you see the page "This menu item was not found" («این آیتم منو پیدا نشد»), the item may have been deleted. Click "Back to the menu" («بازگشت به منو»).

• If you see the message "Saving the new order failed" («ثبت ترتیب تازه ناموفق بود»), the item goes back to its previous place; try again.

• If you see the message "No item was found with these filters" («با این فیلترها آیتمی پیدا نشد»), click "Clear filters".

• If you see the message "Saving the menu item failed" («ذخیره‌ی آیتم منو ناموفق بود»), click "Save" again.

• If you see another message, the text of that message is your guide; if the problem stays, message support.
